Prompt writing: He took a glance at his phone and immediately he knew who was calling. He silently relieved that he kept his phone on silent mode. He quickly put the phone back into the pocket, hoping that she won’t see his panicking face. She looked up and instantly she found his eyes. He told himself to keep his cool; he regained his composure and fixed her an aloof look. He hoped that would have fooled her, but he thought wrong because she asked him why he checked phone.

“Oh, nothing,” he shrugged, “I just received an SMS — an advertisement on internet charges. It’s irritating.”

She seemed to believe that because she continued browsing the clothes on the rack. He took a deep breath, glad that she bought it. He realised he was getting good at lying nowadays, everything that came out from his mouth felt so easy, flowing a water dam; in a split second he could conjure up some story that sounds so convincing that no one would suspect he wasn’t telling the truth. Despite the disgust he felt churning up from deep within himself, he couldn’t help but feel intrigued and proud of the crime, as it felt like escaping from a death sentence.
